Job summary

CHS Career Site is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. The role prepares and maintains the sterile field, anticipates surgeon needs, and ensures proper handling of instruments and supplies to support safe, efficient patient care.

Responsibilities include instrument counts, patient positioning, and adherence to infection prevention protocols. CST and BLS certifications required, with 0–2 years OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room by ensuring instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready for procedures.
• Maintains a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure.
• Anticipates surgeon needs and passes instruments during procedures.
• Handles instruments and equipment per policy, including sterilization.
• Performs and documents counts to support patient safety.
• Assists with patient positioning and draping as directed by the RN.
• Supports maintenance of physician preference cards and documentation.
• Restocks supplies and prepares rooms for subsequent cases.
