Job summary

Tufts Medicine in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team and support the perioperative care of patients. You will assist the surgeon during procedures, provide instruments, and help maintain sterile technique throughout all phases of surgery.

In this role you will scrub on cases, prepare equipment, and collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure patient safety and efficient OR operations. A CST certification and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CST certification required for post-2013 employment or equivalent military training.
• 12 months to less than 3 years healthcare experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Prior surgical tech training or certification required.

Responsibilities

• Functions as Surgical Technologist in the OR across various procedures.
• Maintains aseptic technique during setup, draping and surgery.
• Scrubs on cases; organizes instrumentation for the surgeon.
• Prepares instruments, supplies and equipment for cases.
• Assists with positioning and room turnover as needed.
• Reports equipment issues to supervisor and keeps OR policies.
• Participates in OR quality improvement and training.
