Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) required if employed after July 1, 2013.
• 12 Months to Less than 3 Years of healthcare experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Functions in a professional manner as the Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room across stages of surgical procedures.
• Maintains aseptic technique during setup, patient draping and surgery.
• Scrubs on cases, organizes instrumentation for the surgeon and participates in counts.
• Prepares instruments, supplies and equipment for cases.
• Performs counts with the circulating nurse as per OR policy.
• Manages intraoperative medications and specimens per policy.
