Job summary

Kindred Hospital Paramount and Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) seeks a Surgical OR Technician (CST) to support surgeons with sterile instruments and supplies during procedures. You will help set up the operating room and assist the team under supervision, ensuring aseptic technique and patient safety.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, OR technician training, CST certification preferred, and 12–18 months of acute care OR experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent completed.
• Formal Operating Room Technician training or equivalent completed.
• 12 to 18 months of acute care OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile fields by preparing instruments, supplies and equipment for each procedure.
• Ensure cleanliness of the surgical suite and that equipment is functional.
• Hand sterile instruments to the surgeon while maintaining aseptic technique.
• Count sponges and needles with the circulating nurse before, during, and after surgery.
• Set up and strip down the OR before and after surgery under RN guidance.
• Assist the RN with documentation and contribute to the nursing care plan.
