ScionHealth's Kindred Hospital Paramount and Acute Rehabilitation Unit in Paramount, CA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. Under RN supervision, you will prepare sterile fields, arrange instruments, and pass supplies to surgeons during procedures, ensuring aseptic technique.

Requirements include a high school diploma, OR Technician training, 12–18 months of acute care OR experience, and CST certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have good and regular attendance.

Responsabilités

• Maintain sterile fields by preparing instruments, supplies, and equipment for each procedure.
• Ensure cleanliness of the surgical suite and that equipment is functional.
• Assist the surgeon by handing sterile instruments and supplies during procedures while maintaining aseptic technique.
• Keep tally of solutions used to irrigate the wound to determine blood loss.
• Identify blood, solutions, drugs, drainage tubes and appliances ordered for the patient by the surgeon or anesthetist.
• Verify sponge and needle count with the circulating nurse before and after surgery to ensure none are left inside the patient.
• Assist in setting up operating room before surgery and prepare patient for surgery, transport as needed.
