Virtua in Mount Holly, NJ is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the FLOAT Team. The position will float between the Mount Holly Operating Room and the Mount Holly Ambulatory Surgery department based on the surgical need.

Shifts are three 10-hour days per week, 7:00 am–5:30 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. The role requires one year OR training or experience and graduates from an accredited Surgical Technology program; BLS is required and Surgical Technologist certification is preferred.

FLOAT Team

Minimum of 1 year of OR Experience

The Position will float between Mount Holly Operating Room and the Mount Holly Ambulatory - Surgery department (Operating Room) based on the surgical need.

Shifts

Three, 10-hour shifts per week

7a - 5:30pm Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday

On-Call Requirements

The position will be responsible for 2nd on-call requirements and Holiday on-call for the Mount Holly Operating Room.

Summary

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Physician, the Surgical Technologist handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.

He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

Position Responsibilities

• Scrubs for, prepares, sets-up and assists during any surgical procedure and provides support to nursing and ancillary departments by transporting and transferring patients to and between units when necessary.
• Prepares instruments and supplies for future procedures.
• Collects and handles specimens according to policy and procedures.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required

One year OR Training or Experience.

Required Education

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program.

Training/Certifications/Licensure

BLS.

Surgical Technologist Certification preferred

Maintenance of New Jersey State required 15 CEs per year.
