Job summary

OakLeaf Surgical in Wisconsin is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support sterile technique and assist during procedures under the surgeon's supervision. This 0.6 FTE position provides 24 hours per week with variable hours.

You will advocate for patient rights, maintain confidentiality, prepare instruments and supplies, ensure Universal Protocol compliance, and help with room turnover. Prior hospital experience and BLS certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for employment in the U.S.
• Degree from an accredited Surgical Technologist program is required
• BLS certification required upon hire
• Previous hospital Surgical Technologist experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patients’ rights and provide compassionate care.
• Check supplies and equipment needed for procedures.
• Open sterile supplies and set up sterile instruments and medications.
• Ensure Universal Protocol with Time Out to prevent errors.
• Maintain infection control and patient safety standards.
• Pass instruments to the surgeon during procedures.
• Prepare and apply sterile dressings and label specimens.
• Document procedure records accurately and communicate to circulator.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to call-ins as needed.
