Job summary

St. Tammany Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the surgical team as a scrub tech under RN supervision. You will prepare instrumentation, supplies and devices to ensure sterile technique and patient safety during invasive procedures.

The role requires 40 scheduled hours per week with full-time and PRN options and an on-call commitment. On-site work in Covington, LA, with competitive benefits and a community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
• One year experience preferred or STHS experience via affiliate program.
• Current BLS certification through ILCOR with manikin check off.
• Call is required according to unit standards.
• Good communication and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Surgical Technologist serves as scrub person under RN supervision to facilitate safe, sterile procedures.
• Prepare and handle instrumentation, supplies and devices for the surgical procedure.
