St. Tammany Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist/LPN to assist the surgical team under RN supervision. This role involves handling instruments, passing supplies, and ensuring sterile technique to support safe patient care.

The position emphasizes OR experience, appropriate licenses (Surgical Tech cert and/or Louisiana LPN), good communication, and adherence to safety standards. This is an on-site PRN opportunity in Covington, LA.

Qualifikationen

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology with one year Operating Room experience preferred.
• Surgical Technology certification preferred
• Good communication and decision-making skills.
• LPNs must have 1 year of surgical technology experience, acute care setting preferred.
• Current Louisiana LPN license (if applicable)
• Current BLS certification through recognized providers.

Aufgaben

• Under supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs procedures within scope to support patient and surgeon.
• Anticipates needs of the surgical team, handling and passing instruments, sutures, sponges and sterile equipment.
