Job summary

Duke University Health System in Durham, NC is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Birthing Center (Nights). The role focuses on sterile technique, instrument handling, and assisting surgeons under nurse supervision in a high-volume setting.

As a member of Duke University Health System, you will support perioperative care across pediatric to geriatric patients, participate in teaching activities as needed, and contribute to patient safety goals within a Magnet-designated system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or maintains accredited Surgical Technologist certification (NCCT or NBSTSA).
• Evidence of successful completion of appropriate training in Surgical Technology in the United States Military accepted.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field and sterile environment throughout procedures.
• Assist with patient preparation and positioning in the OR.
• Pass instruments safely and perform counts with accuracy.
• Support team during case preparation and operative workflow.
• Provide post-operative care and reinforce caregiver instructions as directed.
