BayCare Health System in Bartow is seeking a Surgical Technologist Lead to oversee the shift and support daily operations in the perioperative unit.

You will prepare instruments, ensure sterile technique, coordinate specimen handling, and assist with inventory while working under RN supervision. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for career growth within a large health system.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or LPN Diploma with 2 years surgical tech experience.
• Or completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Acts as shift lead and assists management with daily department operations.
• Performs technical support in perioperative period under RN supervision.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, OR, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Surgical Technologist Lead

• Acts as the shift lead to staff and assists management with daily operations of the department.
• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: Days

Weekend Work: Occasional

On Call: Yes

Requirements

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or LPN Technical Diploma and 2 years surgical technician experience OR completion of a military or hospital based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
