BayCare seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant for the St. Joseph's site in Tampa. The role supports the perioperative team under RN supervision, ensuring a sterile field and coordinating specimen handling.

Applicants must complete an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or equivalent, hold NBSTSA/NCCT certification, BLS, and a high school diploma. On-site, full-time with strong growth and comprehensive benefits.

Description

Position Description: Certified Surgical Technologist

• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Location: Same Day Surgery - St Josephs Main and Childrens

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 6:30am - 3:00pm

On Call: No

Requirements:

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
