Job summary

St. Joseph's Health offers a Surgical Technologist Assistant internship designed to increase program participation and eventual hire as a Surgical Technologist.

The intern will support the perioperative team, learn instrument handling, and gain real-time patient care exposure in intraoperative roles. Applicants must be a current Surgical Technology student in good standing, with a letter of recommendation from the program director or instructor.

Qualifications

• CPR/BLS certification required or eligible.
• Be a current Surgical Technology student in good standing and progressing toward program completion.
• Initiation of internship requires application to St. Joseph’s Health and a letter of recommendation.

Responsibilities

• Assist perioperative team as primary scrub with instrumentation, supplies and equipment.
• Support surgical team during a variety of procedures and anticipate needs.
• Participate in internship program designed to increase Surgical Technologist numbers and recruit future staff.
