Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist Assistant Intern to support the perioperative team. The role involves handling instrumentation, supplies and equipment as the primary scrub person and will offer exposure to a variety of surgical procedures.

The internship is designed to increase Surgical Technologist numbers, with flexibility in scheduling including weekends, and can lead to hire as a Surgical Technologist after completion of the program.

Qualifications

• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Cer tification eligible as a CST for future certification is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and clinical support to the perioperative team.
• Serve as primary scrub person handling instrumentation, supplies and equipment.
• Assist in intraoperative activities and anticipate surgeon needs.
