Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to support operating room readiness by ensuring all instruments, equipment, supplies, and specialty items are available for surgical procedures. You will assist the surgeon, act as a clinical resource, and precept students while managing call duties.

Eligible candidates include Certified Surgical Technologists with at least one year of experience; BLS certification is required or obtainable within 30 days of start date.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program required.
• Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• Certified Surgical Technologist certification required.
• Minimum of one year of Surgical Technologist experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the operating room with instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Demonstrates proficiency in core and specialty surgical procedures and supports surgeon needs.
• Serves as a clinical resource within assigned specialties.
• Precepts and educates staff/students and fulfills call responsibilities independently.

Summary:

The Surgical Technologist II prepares and maintains the operating room by ensuring all instruments, equipment, supplies, and specialty items are available and ready for surgical procedures. This role demonstrates proficiency in core and specialty surgical procedures, anticipates and responds to the changing needs of the surgeon and procedure, and serves as a clinical resource within assigned specialty areas. The Surgical Technologist II supports the development of staff and students through precepting and education activities and independently fulfills call responsibilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program required.
2. License/Certifications: Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Certified Surgical Technologist certification required.
3. Experience: Minimum of one year of Surgical Technologist experience required.

The pay range for this position is $27.27to $36.88 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
