Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (Surgical Technician II) to support cardiac, vascular and thoracic procedures. You will prepare the operating room, set up sterile fields and assist the surgical team with instruments under minimal supervision.

The position requires CST and BLS certification, a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years of related experience, and a commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and teamwork in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certificate 1 Cert Surg Tech (CST) required., and Certificate 2 Basic Life Support required.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited education program for surgical technologists or has completed a training program for surgical technologists in the United States Military or Public Health Service.
• Holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally recognized credentialing body.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the circulating nurse prior to a procedure to prepare the OR, gather supplies, and maintain the sterile field.
• During surgery, anticipates needs and provides required instruments and supplies.
• Passes supplies and instruments, assists with suctioning and suturing, and helps count supplies.
• Recognizes safety issues and protects patient confidentiality and rights.
• Facilitates efficient turnover by organizing equipment for upcoming cases.
