Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certification CST (Certificate 1) required.
• BLS (Certificate 2) required.
• 1–3 years of related experience preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or US Military/Public Health Service training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room and sterile field; gather supplies, instruments and equipment.
• Assist in intraoperative phase by passing instruments and maintaining sterile field.
• Assist in counting supplies and instruments with circulating nurse.
• Monitor for patient safety; report issues affecting safety and privacy.
