Job summary

Mercy Health in Paducah, KY seeks a Surgical Technologist II to assist surgeons and nurses in the operating room. You will prepare the OR, assemble routine supplies, and support the surgical team to maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures.

Requirements include an associates degree or equivalent Surgical Technology certification and one year of experience. BLS and CST/NBSTA/TS-C/NCCT certification are required, with Virginia CST if residing in VA.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology (required).
• One year of experience as a Surgical Technologist (required).
• BLS – American Heart Association certification; CST/NBSTA/TS-C/NCCT certification required; Virginia CST certification if residing in Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Assemble supplies and equipment for operative and invasive procedures.
• Provide supplies to the surgical team during procedures and maintain aseptic technique.
• Report implanted devices, catheters, drains and packing to circulator.
• Prepare and perform surgical skin prep as indicated by procedure.
• Assist with pre- and post-procedure cleaning of the OR.
• Demonstrate understanding of Advance Directives and relevant equipment, MIS, laparoscopy and robotics.
