University of Iowa Health Care – Medical Center North Liberty is seeking a full-time Surgical Technologist II to assist with surgical procedures under the direction of staff nurses. This role prepares, operates and maintains equipment, implants and supplies for the operating room and supports patient care across the perioperative team.

The position offers a 10-hour shift schedule, 0645–1715, with weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of a vocational or military course in surgical technology, or certification as a Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA and NCCT).
• Two years of Surgical Technologist experience.

Responsabilités

• Prepares surgical area for patient care and anticipates needs of the surgical team.
• Serves as primary preceptor for Surgical Technology students and new staff.
• Maintains aseptic technique and ensures proper handling of implants and instruments.
• Communicates with surgeons regarding implants, instruments and supplies for future cases.
• Mentors new employees and other surgical team members.
