Job summary

HSHS Medical Group is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to assist the surgical team in preparing and monitoring equipment, maintaining a sterile field, and passing instruments during procedures at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, with an Associates degree preferred or military training in surgical technology. BLS certification is required and night shifts are available as part of a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associates degree in surgical technology is preferred.
• Graduate from a recognized surgical technology program or completed military training in surgical technology is required.
• Illinois: High School Diploma or GED plus 3 years as a Surgical Technologist in healthcare may be considered in lieu of education.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgical team in providing intraoperative care including preparing and monitoring equipment, passing instruments, and maintaining sterile field.
• Assists with patient transfer/positioning and performs a variety of surgical skills and procedures.
