Job summary

SJS HSHS St. John's Hospital is seeking a Surgical Tech for PRN coverage in the Springfield, IL area. The role includes assisting the surgeon and team throughout the perioperative process, preparing patients and equipment, and helping maintain an efficient operating suite.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, and a surgical technology credential; an Associate degree is preferred. CST certification is required, with additional CSFA/CSA/SA-C credentials highly regarded for hires

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associates degree in surgical technology preferred.
• Graduate or successful completion of accredited Surgical Technology or Surgical First Assist program required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to surgeon and clinical team during perioperative care.
• Position and prep patients prior to surgery and assist with instrument exposure.
• Maintain an efficient operating room environment and assist in wound closure and dressing.
