Qualifications

• Associate degree in Surgical Technology or military surgical tech training.
• Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
• Current BCLS certification required.
• Basic computer skills and completion of department orientation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms by organizing instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Establish and maintain a sterile field throughout surgery.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies.
• Participate in sponge, needle, and instrument counts to promote patient safety.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure continuity of care for patients of all ages.
• Assist with room turnover, equipment handling, and supply management following procedures.
• Support multiple surgical specialties and contribute to departmental quality and cost-containment initiatives.
• Serve as a resource and mentor for new team members as assigned.

Education

Associate degree in Surgical Technology

Military surgical technology training

Two years Surgical Technician experience
