Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a qualified Surgical Technologist for our Pontiac, MI area operating rooms. This full-time position requires adherence to aseptic technique, teamwork with surgeons and nursing staff, and commitment to patient safety during perioperative care.

Minimum 18 months OR experience, graduation from an approved Surgical Technologist program (Associates Degree preferred), and current BLS certification are required; CST certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical technologist program; associate degree preferred.
• Current BLS certification required; CST certification preferred.
• Minimum 18 months OR experience.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; stand/walk for long periods.
• Strong teamwork and patient-care focus.

Responsibilities

• Applies aseptic principles to provide optimum patient care and maintains sterile technique.
• Assists in setting up the OR with supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Assists with moving and positioning patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively.
• Passes instruments and supplies to the surgeon as needed; maintains counts of sponges, needles and instruments.
• Maintains equipment and instrument readiness; participates in instrument sterilization and turnover.
