Job summary

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, and 2 years of surgical technologist experience. Surgical tech program graduate preferred; NH board registration required; BLS certification advisable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Surgical Technology School or program preferred.
• 2 years of experience as a surgical technologist.
• Knowledge of Orthopaedic, GYN, and General Surgery preferred.
• Currently Registered with the New Hampshire Board of Registration for Medical Technicians.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a member of the OR team, preparing for surgery and setting up instruments and equipment.
• Assists in surgery and maintains surgical suites.
• Shares in OR suite cleaning, preparation, use and maintenance of specialized equipment and supplies.
• Maintains sterilization techniques and disposal of hazardous waste.
• Uses surgical instruments and follows step-by-step sequences for surgeries.
• Handles surgical specimens and files/copies path and procedure chart reports.
