Job summary

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the OR team in New Hampshire. The role involves preparing for surgery, setting up instruments and equipment, assisting in procedures, and maintaining surgical suites.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and NH registration; completion of a surgical technology program is preferred. Candidates should have 2 years of experience and be familiar with orthopaedic, gynecologic, and general surgery procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology School or program recognized by the Association of Surgical Technologists preferred.
• 2 years of experience as a surgical technologist.
• Knowledge of Orthopaedic, GYN, and General Surgery preferred.
• Currently Registered with the New Hampshire Board of Registration for Medical Technicians.

Responsibilities

• Shares in OR suite cleaning, preparation, use and maintenance of specialized equipment & supplies used for surgical procedures.
• Maintains sterilization techniques and disposal of hazardous waste.
• Uses surgical instruments and knowledge of the step-by-step sequences for surgical procedures.
• Handles surgical specimens.
• Files and copies path and procedure chart reports.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
