Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. You will prepare for surgery, set up instruments and equipment, and assist in procedures to ensure smooth and safe patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, completion of a recognized surgical technology program, at least 2 years of experience, and BLS certification; knowledge of Orthopaedic, GYN, and General Surgery is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Surgical Technology School or program recognized by the Association of Surgical Technologists preferred.
• 2 years of experience as a surgical technologist.
• Knowledge of Orthopaedic, GYN, and General Surgery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Shares in OR suite cleaning, preparation, use and maintenance of specialized equipment & supplies used for surgical procedures.
• Maintains sterilization techniques and disposal of hazardous waste.
• Uses surgical instruments and knowledge of the step-by-step sequences for surgical procedures.
• Handles surgical specimens.
• Files and copies path and procedure chart reports.
