Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a per diem/day shift role in New London, NH. The candidate will assist in preparing for surgeries, set up instruments, maintain sterile techniques, and support the OR team.

Per diem hours reflect flexible scheduling with day shifts available. Required is a high school diploma or GED, a Surgical Technology program, and NH licensure; two years of experience are preferred, with certification in BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology School or program recognized by the Association of Surgical Technologists preferred.
• 2 years of experience as a surgical technologist
• Knowledge of Orthopaedic, GYN, and General Surgery preferred.
• Currently Registered with the New Hampshire Board of Registration for Medical Technicians

Responsibilities

• Shares in OR suite cleaning, preparation, use and maintenance of specialized equipment & supplies used for surgical procedures.
• Maintains sterilization techniques and disposal of hazardous waste.
• Uses surgical instruments and knowledge of the step-by-step sequences for surgical procedures.
• Handles surgical specimens.
• Files and copies path and procedure chart reports.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
