Job summary

Advocate Health Lincoln is hiring a Surgical Technician for full-time night shifts in the Obstetrics/Gynecology nursing unit. The role requires strong aseptic technique knowledge, room turnover support, and collaboration with the RN circulator to prepare patients and instruments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
• Graduate of accredited surgical technology program or military training required.
• Current NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Possesses thorough knowledge of aseptic technique and its application.
• Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments before, during and after surgery.
• Assists RN circulator in patient prep, assembly of supplies, instruments, equipment and specimen disposition; helps with room turnover.
• Performs duties according to department policy and procedure.
• Monitors sterilization activities and ensures proper usage and accurate charges.
• Attends in-services and participates in Performance Improvement processes.
• Participates in educational opportunities to increase competency and meet goals.
