Job summary

Advocate Health, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Surgical Technologist for Labor & Delivery. This full-time role is 7p-7a, with a 36-hour week and a pay range of $25.30–$37.95 per hour.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS for Healthcare Providers, and graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or military equivalent; NBSTSA/NCCT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology required or successful military program completion.
• Current NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Possesses a thorough knowledge of aseptic technique and its application.
• Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments prior, during and after surgical procedure.
• Assists Registered Nurse circulator in preparation of patient, assembly of supplies, instruments, equipment and proper disposition of all specimens; assists with room turnover.
• Performs duties according to department policy and procedure.
• Monitors surgical supplies for sterility prior to use and ensures that supplies are used judiciously; charges are documented/submitted accurately.
