Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee seeks a Surgical Technologist to support sterile processing and assist during procedures. You will prepare the sterile field, pass instruments, and help maintain a safe, efficient operating room.

The role requires knowledge of aseptic technique, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and strong teamwork. Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is required; BLS may be required within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques for preparing materials, supplies and equipment.
• Knowledge of operating room equipment and instrument handling.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Annual certifications and ongoing education per hospital policy.

Responsibilities

• Provides a clean, safe and efficient area conducive to optimal patient care.
• Performs procedures and maintains knowledge of various surgical procedures.
• Ensures environmental disinfection and safety of the operating room.
• Functions as a Second Assistant as necessary.
• Notifies staff of equipment and supply problems.
• Transports patients and equipment; maintains sterile field and equipment.
• Performs patient positioning and lifting with proper technique.
