Job summary

West Allis Memorial Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide aseptic preparation and assistance in the operating room. Responsibilities include preparing the sterile field, passing instruments, and assisting with patient positioning and transport.

The role requires completion of a Surgical Technology program and BLS; no prior experience is required, with ongoing certifications monitored by the department. This position is on-site in a fast-paced OR environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques used in prep of materials, supplies and equipment for various procedures.
• Knowledge of various types of equipment used in the operating room.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital certifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up sterile field for surgical cases, assist with gowning/gloving and instrument passing.
• Move and position equipment and supplies; ensure sterile, dry field.
• Assist in maintaining sterile field and anticipate surgeons' needs.
• Transport patients and equipment; notify staff of equipment or supply issues.
• Perform patient positioning and basic assisting duties as needed.
