Job summary

West Allis Memorial Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the operating room, maintaining a sterile field and passing instruments to surgeons. You will set up the room, prepare draping, and ensure patient safety during procedures.

Requires completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program and BLS certification within 6 months. No prior experience is required; strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers within 6 months.
• No prior experience required.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques; strong customer service and interpersonal skills; basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Set up operating room and equipment for procedures.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies as Second Assistant.
• Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique throughout cases.
• Transport patients and equipment as needed.
• Prepare and drape surgical area; ensure sterile, dry field.
• Position patients and assist in moving them safely.
• Inspect equipment and report any issues or malfunctions.
