Job summary

Ascension seeks a surgical support professional for the Endoscopy department in Brookfield, WI. The role supports the operating room by preparing the instrument set, passing items to surgeons, and assisting with patient positioning and draping during procedures.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience or an associate/technical degree, and a BLS certification. The role is PRN with benefits typical of Ascension facilities.

• Required credential: BLS Provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• Preferred credential: Local Exception approvals as noted in the posting

• Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
• Assists surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• None Required.
• Preferred Credential(s):
• Approved Local Exception. Approved for local use in NY for local addition of LPN. All other ministries must seek approval to use Approved Local Exception.
• BLS Provider. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
