Job summary

Qualifications

• Licensure/certification per hospital policy.

• Maintain a precise, sterile surgical field by organizing all instrumentation and supplies for efficient procedural flow.
• Assist the operating surgeon with wound exposure, hemostasis, and suturing to drive optimal outcomes.
• Monitor team needs and patient changes, communicating and intervening to sustain procedure progress and safety.

• Department: GI
• Schedule: On-call | Primarily call coverage for GI | call starts at 1430 and ends at 0630 M-F and is 24 hours a day on Saturday and Sunday

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Advocate for and safeguard the total well-being of the patient by expertly managing their comprehensive care as the circulating nurse, spanning pre-op preparation through post-procedure stabilization and documentation.
• Execute and maintain a precise, sterile surgical field by selecting, organizing, and managing all instrumentation and supplies to ensure a seamless and efficient procedural flow.
• Collaborate with the operating surgeon to drive optimal surgical outcomes by directly assisting with critical tasks such as wound exposure, hemostasis, and suturing.
• Monitor and anticipate team needs and patient physiological changes, proactively communicating and rapidly intervening to sustain optimal procedure progression and patient safety.

What minimum qualifications you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences:

• Must be a graduate of accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Prior experience preferred.
