Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technician to join our Operating Room team. You will prepare the operating room, instruments, equipment, and supplies, and maintain the sterile field throughout procedures, supporting general surgery, gynecology, urology, podiatry, and plastics.

Day shift, full-time with 6:45am starts. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent experience; BLS required; CST preferred but not required in

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent experience.
• BLS certification required.
• CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa; if working in Illinois, must obtain CST within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for the surgical procedure, including instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain the sterile field during the procedure and assist as scrub technologist.
• Support a range of cases including general surgery, gynecology, urology, podiatry, and plastics.
