Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES.
• OR completion of a military surgical technology program.
• OR certification as a Surgical Technologist (TS-C or CST).
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub and assist in circulating functions under RN supervision.
• Set up sterile tables and ensure supplies, drugs and equipment are available.
• Assist in counting sponges and instruments during surgery.
• Assist with gowning, gloving and draping of patients.
• Maintain aseptic technique throughout the procedure.
• Participate in intraoperative timeouts.
• Collect, identify and label specimens for disposition.

CAAHEP/ABHES accredited Surgical Technology program

Military surgical technology program

Surgical Technologist certification (TS-C or CST)

BLS (AHA or Red Cross)
