Job summary

Mercy Cedar Rapids is seeking a Surgical Tech to support patient-centered care in the operating room, assisting surgeons, anesthesia personnel and nurses, and serving as first scrub in core cases with potential as second circulator.

Requirements include graduation from a Surgical Technology program (or equivalent experience), a minimum of one year in surgical tech or related fields, and current Basic Life Support certification per the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience as Surgical Tech or related role (Patient Care Tech, CNA, Paramedic).
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or equivalent experience.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs first scrub on core cases and assists surgeons and OR staff.
• Maintains sterile technique and asepsis throughout procedures.
• Assists as Surgical Assistant as needed and supports instrument handling.
