Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Iowa is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Day shift to prepare the operating room for diverse surgeries. You will assist the circulating nurse, instrument cases, and maintain sterile fields to support surgeons.

The role requires surgical tech certification, 2+ years of experience, and BLS/mandatory reporting training. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for a limited time along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technologist program is required, or graduate of an LPN program with Surgical experience.
• Certification as a surgical technologist required.
• LPN license required if graduate of LPN program.
• Must have at least 2 years of experience functioning as a Surgical Tech.

Responsibilities

• Assists the circulating nurse in assessing the patients' needs and helps to develop and implement the plan of care.
• Provides care to all surgical patients per operating room standards and physician cards.
• Assists in setting up rooms and prepares the pre-operative site.
• Secures safe transport of the patient when needed and manages sterile field.
• Confirms correctness of the surgical site and instruments the case under supervision.
• Develops and maintains knowledge of all surgical specialties.

Education

Surgical technologist program or LPN with surgical experience

Certification as a surgical technologist

LPN license if graduate of LPN program

2+ years experience as Surgical Tech
