MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA seeks a Surgical Technologist for full-time day shift. The role prepares the operating room, instruments cases, and maintains sterile field under the circulator, supporting patient care across specialties.

Requires graduation from a surgical technologist program or an LPN with surgical experience, certification, and at least 2 years in the role. BLS and mandatory reporting training must be current; a $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technologist program or graduate of an LPN program with surgical experience.
• Certification as a surgical technologist required.
• LPN license required if graduate of LPN program.
• Must have at least 2 years of experience functioning as a Surgical Tech.
• Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintain current status.
• Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status.

Responsibilities

• Assists the circulating nurse in assessing patients' needs and helps develop the care plan.
• Provides care to surgical patients per standards and policies.
• Assists in setting up rooms and transports patients.
• Maintains sterile field, instruments cases, and prepares pre-operative sites.
• Operates under supervision of the circulating nurse and manages supplies.
