Job summary

Ascension Health's Columbia St Mary’s Hospital Milwaukee is seeking a Surgical Technician to prepare the operating room, hand instruments to the surgeon, assist with patient positioning, and maintain instrument counts throughout procedures.

Join the Surgery department on a rotating full-time schedule; the role supports surgeons during procedures and ensures OR sterility and efficiency.

Your future role at a glance

• Location: Milwaukee, WI
• Facility: Columbia St Mary’s Hospital Milwaukee
• Department: Surgery
• Schedule: Rotating Shift l Full-Time

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

• CST licensure/ certification
• Previous CVOR experience
