Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the CVOR team. You will support the sterile operating room, pass instruments, and assist surgeons during procedures to maintain a smooth, efficient workflow.

The role requires NBSTSA Surgical Tech credentialing and BLS certification within 30 days of hire, with either an Associate/Technical degree or equivalent experience, and a high school diploma with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor instrument counts throughout procedures.
• Assist surgeons' provision of hemostasis during surgery.

What Minimum Requirements You'll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Required Credential(s)

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
