Job summary

Froedtert Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for our Drexel Surgery Center in Oak Creek, WI. The role is on-site, at 0.8 FTE with standard hours of 32 per week, and involves varying start times 0600–0800, Monday–Friday.

The incumbent will assist during procedures, maintain sterile technique, and support a high-quality patient experience under direction of the surgical team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience.
• Completion of a Surgical Technologist program or certification.
• BLS (AHA) within 90 days of hire; CST preferred.

Responsibilities

Shift Details: The ASC is open Monday through Friday. This position would have varying start times, 0600-0800. Holidays: none Weekends: none

Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. He/she will perform other related duties as needed to maintain department cost containment, efficiency, as well as quality performance.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Surgical Technologist is required. Is competent in role as a Surgical Technologist and displays advanced knowledge and ability to independently perform roles and tasks related to the field of surgical technology. Anticipates surgeons' needs and is acknowledged by staff as advanced in field.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

Ability to first assist is preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIRED

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Post high school education, certification or diploma required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, completion of Military Operating Room Specialist course or the Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required.

LICENSURE REQUIRED

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

LICENSURE PREFERRED

Certification as a Surgical Technologist is highly preferred.
