Job summary

BayCare Health System in Clearwater, FL, is seeking an OR Care Technician Apprentice I to support the Surgical Technologist Apprentice program. This role requires enrollment in the BayCare Surgical Technologist Apprentice school program and completion of basic surgical tech coursework.

Under supervision, you will perform duties under a Surgical Technologist — Preceptor, participate in the operating room team, and contribute to patient care.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required or equivalent.
• Meets OR Care Technician job description requirements.
• Completed basic surgical technology coursework.
• Enrollment in BayCare Surgical Technologist Apprentice program.
• Surgical Technologist Apprentice framework skills must be validated on hire.

Summary:

Functions as an OR Care Technician based upon skills acquired through surgical technology coursework of a Surgical Technologist Apprentice Program. Works under the direction and supervision of a Surgical Technologist — Certified Preceptor or a Surgical Technologist — Non Certified Preceptor. Must be enrolled in the BayCare Surgical Technologist Apprentice school program.

Required Certification/License: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Education/Experience:

• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent (HS/GED).

• Meets the requirements of the OR Care Technician job description.

• Completed basic principles of surgical technology coursework in a Surgical Technologist program.

• Must be enrolled in the BayCare Surgical Technologist Apprentice school program.

• Skills designated under the Surgical Technologist Apprentice framework must be validated upon hire or transfer.
