Job summary

Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis County seeks a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team. You will perform duties under the supervision of a registered nurse, prepare the OR, gather supplies, and assist with sterile processing during procedures.

This full‑time role features Monday–Friday scheduling with 3/12 hour shifts, 6:30am–7:00pm, and a $12,500 sign-on bonus. MO Baptist Medical Center offers Magnet designation, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience specified for the role.
• Accred Surgical Program preferred; Surgical Technician certification beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains supplies and equipment, ensures cleanliness, assists with opening sterile supplies.
• Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens.
• Assists in turning over of room, ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location.

Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
