Job summary

UCHealth is hiring a Surgical Technician at the UCHlth Eastview Medical Center in Colorado Springs. This role facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures, preparing and maintaining the operating suite, ensuring all instruments are sterile and ready for use.

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of Surgical Tech experience or be a graduate of a recognized program. We offer medical benefits, a retirement plan, and a performance bonus system.

Qualifications

  • 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program.
  • BLS or CPR card must be valid within sixty days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure good working order of equipment and instruments.
  • Pass instruments to physician during surgery.

Department: EV ASC OR All Specialties

Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $27.61 - $41.41 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant‘s relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.Passes instruments to physician during surgery.

Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED or Military trained.State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration.6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program.BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
