Job summary

UCHealth Eastview Medical Center in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a Surgical Technologist to facilitate safe, efficient surgical procedures. The role is onsite only, with day shifts and a pay range of $27.61–$41.41 per hour, dependent on experience.

The position requires a minimum high school diploma or GED (or military training), State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration, and BLS. At least 6 months of surgical tech experience or graduation from an accredited program is

Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $27.61 - $41.41 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Type: This position is onsite only. No hybrid or remote option.

Job Overview

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
  • Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
  • Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum High School diploma or GED or Military trained.
  • Licensure/Certification: State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program.
  • BLS/CPR: BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
