Job summary

UCHealth University of Colorado Health invites applicants for an onsite Surgical Technician at UCHealth Inv OrthoSpine Surg Ctr in Englewood, CO. This full-time, dayshift position offers a pay range of $27.61–$41.41 per hour, depending on experience, with no remote option.

The role supports safe surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, passing instruments, assisting with patient positioning, handling specimens, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or military training.
  • State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration, BLS required.
  • Minimum 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited program.
  • BLS CPR certification valid through start date.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
  • Ensures equipment and instruments are in good working order; assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • Passes instruments to physician during surgery and tracks instruments and supplies.
  • Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
  • Works with critical thinking, decisive judgement and can operate with minimal supervision in fast-paced settings.

Department:INV ASC Operating Room

Work Schedule:Full Time, 64.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift:Days

Pay:$27.61 - $41.41 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:
Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipmentand supplies.
  • Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
  • Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED or Military trained.
    Required Licensure/Certification: State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
    Minimum Experience: 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
