Job Summary

5-8 HR SHIFTS 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM SURGICAL TECH POSITION AT CHARLOTTE ORTHOPEDIC HOSPITAL

SERVICES: HIP, SHOULDER, KNEE, FOOT & ANKLE, ELBOW, HAND & WRIST, ORTHOPEDIC CASES

The Surgical Technologist works under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse to facilitate safe and effective invasive surgical procedures. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe operating room environment, proper functioning of equipment, and conducting procedures that maximize patient safety. Surgical technologists apply sterile and aseptic techniques, possessing expertise in human anatomy, surgical procedures, and the use of surgical tools and technologies to assist physicians during invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or Military Training as an Operating Room Specialist (68D). Online programs are not accepted.
• Previous Surgical Technologist experience preferred.
• Current Surgical Tech Certification preferred.
• For non-certified or non-graduate applicants: must obtain certification within 12 months of hire and demonstrate competency through validation and testing. Must have effective communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
