About the Role

The Surgical Technologist works cooperatively with the RN Circulator, the surgeon, and other medical personnel to provide efficient, safe, and comfortable care for the patient. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, gathering equipment, preparing, and maintaining the surgical field, while re-evaluating and anticipating the needs of patients across all age groups.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and specialized training from an accredited surgical technologist course or previous experience.
• Surgical Technologist certification required.
• On-the-job orientation from a qualified OR preceptor required.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret data from equipment and computer.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Provide positive customer service.

Physical Requirements

• Work may involve mental/visual fatigue and operation of a computer up to 40% of the time.
• Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and assist with heavier tasks.

Responsibilities

• Interpret procedure cards and assess case carts for supplies.
• Anticipate physicians' needs based on operative procedures.
• Observe patient’s condition for any issues.
• Update case information and ensure proper use of equipment.
• Act as a resource for positioning devices, specialty equipment, and implants.
• Perform scrub duties across multiple services, including neuro and ortho.

• Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift
• Full-time, 36 hours/week
