Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center, IA is seeking a Surgical Technician to prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment and assist surgeons and nurses during procedures. The role emphasizes patient safety and infection control within a faith-centered community hospital. Strong teamwork and adherence to standards are essential.

Evening/night/weekend shifts may be required as part of general hours. Completion of OR technician training and CPR certification are required; CST experience is a plus

Formación

• High school graduate with OR tech program or equivalent.
• Prefer CST experience but not required.
• Bi-lingual experience preferred but not required.

Responsabilidades

• Prepares the Operating Room for surgical procedures in a timely fashion.
• Assists the surgeon as the first or second scrub person during surgical procedures.
• Maintains a sterile field at all times in the procedure area.
• Maintains efficiency in handling surgical instruments at physician’s request.
• Verifies specimens with surgeons and nurses.
• Assists in transporting patients to the OR when necessary.
• Performs decontamination, sterilization, and distribution procedures per QA guidelines.

Educación

High school graduate with satisfactory completion of an Operating Room Technician program or its equivalent

Certificate of satisfactory completion of Operating Room Technology program

Successful completion of National Exam of O.R. Technicians required

Must obtain CPR certification within 3 months of hire date
